Rose Prick opens with a tantalizing and unexpected combination of spicy sichuan pepper and aromatic turmeric. As the fragrance unfolds, the middle notes of sweet May rose, floral Bulgarian rose and earthy Turkish rose emerge, providing a well-rounded rose experience. The base notes of rich patchouli and sweet tonka bean anchor the scent and add complexity to the fragrance as a whole.

So, I already reviewed this one in wax, but this one is such a knockout in soap I had to review in soap as well. to my surprise I like this scent even more in soap. in fact i’m going to go out here on a limb and say this is my #1 favorite scent from doop so far. this is a unique and nostalgic rose scent. in soap I get more of the spicy notes. it’s rose first, then some spice, then some patchouli and then some tonka. the tonka & patchouli really pull this one together and make it so elevated. this is not your typical rose. I think people who don’t normally like rose would like this. it is not sweet and does have a slight powdery finish, but it’s nothing like your grandma’s rose. i’d say it’s more of a dry, dusty vibe from the tonka. it is very strong and this one I can still smell on my skin an hour after showering. I’d imagine that’s due to the patchouli note. I didn’t have any problems with acceleration or ricing. this one can work year round, but I think would shine the most in spring and summer.
